Rank Advancement Requirements

Blue Tip (Knowledge and Basic Movements): All Sky Students must be able to absorb, understand, and practice not only physical techniques but the respect, discipline, and mental concentration as well. Understanding the knowledge for each rank will help as students grow physically by reminding that it is also important to grow mentally.  Basic Movements are also required as each rank’s basic movements will allow practice for a better ranking form (poomse).

Black Tip (Rank Form and Understanding of Movements):  Ranking forms (or poomse) are the series of systematic movements used for defense and attack.  Each belt has its own poomse and continues to increase in difficulty as students advance.

Red Tip (Attendance, Basic Kicks, and Manner): Class attendance is important.  Traditional Tae Kwon Do is a disciplined martial art, which is intended to be practiced regularly.  The more consistent classes are attended, the faster students will learn the basic fundamentals and gain confidence in their skills.  If you are planning to miss more than two regular classes in any given week, please let one of the instructors know ahead of time to stop us from worrying about you.   Basic Kicks are also required as each rank’s basic kicks will allow practice for a better ranking form (poomse) and sparring (kyoorogi).
